Daily COVID: 6 die, 266 cases counted

Bangladesh today reported six more deaths from the Covid-19 pandemic while 266 fresh cases were diagnosed in the preceding 24 hours.

With the latest figures, the deaths toll from the virus rose to 27,934 people while the overall caseload stood at 15,73,214, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement today.

A total of 19,670 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today), yielding a virus positivity rate of 1.35 percent. Besides, the total positivity rate stands at 14.88 percent.

The recovery count rose to 15,37,224 after another 257 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 97.71 percent of Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.78 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
