Covid-19: 32 die, infections fall in 24hrs

As many as 32 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 7312 in the country. Yesterday, 38 died from the disease.
Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 5,02,201 as 1470 new cases were confirmed during the period. Meanwhile, 1,513 Covid-19 patients were diagnosed yesterday.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Monday (December 21, 2020).
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases on March 8.
Meanwhile, 546,655 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 7,979 died from the pandemic in the last 24 hours. The United States has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of this afternoon, a total of 77,223,126 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,700,679 while 54,129,927 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
