Zimbabwe opt to bat; debut Ariful and Nazmul

Zimbabwe won the toss and choose to bat first in the first test against host Bangladesh, which is being held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Ariful Haque and Nazuml Islam make their debuts for Bangladesh. Bangladesh coach Steve Rhodes hands over the Test cap to Nazmul Islam and Ariful Haque.

Bangladesh have lost six of the 14 Tests they've played against Zimbabwe, but are increasingly dominant in recent years, and have won four of the last five Tests between the two.

Meanwhile, Sylhet will become the sixth city, and will provide the eighth venue, to host a Test match in Bangladesh. The others are Dhaka (two stadiums), Chattogram (two stadiums), Bogura, Fatullah and Khulna.

Teams: Zimbabwe (Playing XI): Hamilton Masakadza(c), Brian Chari, Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Peter Moor, Regis Chakabva(w), Brandon Mavuta, Wellington Masakadza, Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chatara.

Bangladesh (Playing XI): Liton Das, Imrul Kayes, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Mahmudullah(c), Ariful Haque, Mehidy Hasan, Taijul Islam, Nazmul Islam, Abu Jayed.
