Youths will create employment opportunities now

The young people will not just seek jobs, they will provide the jobs also, commented State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak. The government is working to create technology-based employment through creating hundreds of millions of entrepreneurs establishing Hi-Tech Park in every district of the country by 2021, he said also.

The minister made this information while talking to the journalists during a visit to the proposed site for the Lalmonirhat Hi-tech Park on Friday afternoon.

The minister said that from now on, the dwellers of the enclave, which has been unbarred recently, will get the benefits of e-marketing through technology. This remarkable achievement of the government's ICT sector is a gift of Mujib Borsho.

Additional secretary Biplab Kumar Ghosh, Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Md. Abu Zafar, local leaders including Zilla Parishad chairman and district Awami League general secretary Advocate Motiur Rahman, Sadar Upazila chairman Kamruzzaman Sujan were present at that time.

Later in the afternoon, the Minister inaugurated the foundation stone of the Digital Services Employment and Training Center under construction at Dasiachhara Multipurpose Secondary School premises in Dasiachara, a large enclave in Kurigram.

At the time, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "The training center was given a gift to the people of the extinct enclave for their training and employment in ICT, who were left behind for 68 years."

He said that 40,000 youths will be trained in ICT during the Mujib Borsho, of which 500 youth from Kurigram will be given the Planning Learning Development training. There are 100 additional services will also be given to people during Mujib. Where about 100 million people will be served.

In our ICT sector, 10,00000 young people have been employed. Already, 6,00000 freelancers are working. Of these, about 2,00000 are working in software technology. There are more than one lakh people working in the call service. There are also around 50,000 people working in the e-commerce sector.

Additional District Magistrate Zilufa Sultana, Additional Police Superintendent Menhajul Alam district Awami League Md. Zafar Ali, general secretary Aman Uddin Ahmed Manju, Fulbari Upazila chairman Ghulam Rabbani Sarkar, and Fulbari UP chairman Harun Aur Rashid spoke the meeting presided over by the Fulbaria UNO Masuma Arefin.

It is worth to be mentioned, the Digital Service Employment and Training Centers are being built at the previous enclaves of Dasiachhara and Panchagarh. The cost of construction of each center has been estimated at Tk 90 lakh.
