‘Army to carry out neutralism and professionalism if gets duty in nat’l polls’

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed said that the army will carry out duties with neutralism and professionalism when the army is deployed in the national polls.

He said this at a ceremony organized by the parade grounds of CMPC&S of Savar Cantonment on Sunday at a parade of Adhok 11th Bangladesh Infantry Regiment.

At this time, the army chief instructed the army to utilize the prior experience and to properly perform the responsibility in the election. 

He also instructed to monitor so that the national elections are held peacefully.  

Earlier, Principal staffs including GOC and Area Commander Major General Md. Akbar Hossain of 9 Infantry Division of Savar welcomed the Chief of Army Staff in the Parade Ground

The Chief of the Army said, “The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman expressed the Commitment and conviction of building the army as a modern army in the world by recognizing the incomparable role of Bangladesh Armed Forces in the Great War of Liberation”

He also said, “And in order to implement that dream, the army is expanding with the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.” 

“In addition to the East Bengal Regiment, Infantry Regiment was established in 1999 as the 2nd Infantry Regiment,” General Aziz Ahmed observed.

He said the army is always ready for the country’s needs.

At this time, the top official of army officers and GOC officers and others were also present in the ceremony.
