Young doctors must come forward to tackle corona: DGHS

Professor Dr. Sanya Tahmina, additional director-general (Planning and Development) of Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS), has urged the young doctors of the country to come forward in the situation arising over coronavirus.   

She said the young doctors who are in the country have a lot of vitality. They will jump and fight. “We are always on the side to ensure your safety,” she said on Thursday in a daily health bulletin online on coronavirus situation of the country.  

So far, 13,881 doctors have undergone training to provide services on the online platform or hotline during this crisis, she said. “In the last 24 hours, 283 more people have received new training and 2,818 young doctors are volunteering.”

Referring to those involved with the medical system are the forefront soldiers of the war, Dr. Sanya Tahmina said, “It is very important to keep their confidence right now. People of Bangladesh can also work in many adverse conditions.” 

“The doctors have to fight for the treatment of ordinary people. Those who are engaged in health care must come forward.” 

“At present, we need cooperation and service instead of criticizing,” Dr. Tahmina also said adding, “In the entire life, we have been giving service to people. We, the doctors, still want to give services for the country.”
