Arif-Sabrina confronted in DB remand: What else reveal the duo

Dr. Sabrina Arif Chowdhury and her husband Ariful Haque Chowdhury, who were arrested on charges of forgery in the name of coronavirus test, were made confronted with each other in police remand. They were blaming each other in the face to face police grilling at the DB office on Minto Road in the capital while Dr. Sabrina was seen furious on Arif and blamed him using indecent words.
Addressing Arif at that time, Sabrina said- I am in this condition for you today. You made me loser. You hanged me now after doing everything. Arif also countered, "Is it all my fault?" You were the chairman of this organization. You also know everything.
Sources said that during interrogation, Sabrina claimed that many members of JKG and Oval Group were involved in the crime. She also divorced Arif Chowdhury due to his activities and personal harassment. However, Arif said that he was involved in this misdeed because of Sabrina.
According to the DB, both admitted to cheating during interrogation. But they have blamed each other for this.
Detective police also found evidence that JKG was cheating in the name of coronavirus testing. Now, efforts underway to measure the contribution of Arif and Sabrina particularly. Their interrogation is going on. Everything will be known at the end of the investigation.
On Wednesday, JKG CEO Arif Chowdhury was remanded for another four days in the second phase. Earlier on Monday. DB police were interrogating Sabrina on a three-day remand. Dr. Sabrina's remand is set to end on Thursday. He is expected to be remanded in custody for questioning on Friday.
In this regard, DB Additional Commissioner Abdul Baten said that Arif and Sabrina have admitted their involvement in report forgeries of JKG Health Care centered on coronavirus, but did not say how much money they have embezzled so far. The amount of money embezzled is being investigated. If Sabrina didn’t give the statement in the first round, she will be produced in the second round remanded for questioning.
According to the police, 27,000 patients’ samples were tested for coronavirus from JKG Health Care so far. Of these, 11,540 samples were tested through IEDCR. The remaining 15,460 reports were made on JKG staff laptops. Through which JKG has taken about Tk 8 crore. Although there was talk of collecting free samples, a minimum of Tk 5,000 was charged for each test. And $100 was taken from the expatriates for each sample.
