Writ files to correct mistakes on English 2nd paper

A writ has been filed to stop selling books from fourth grade to graduation in educational institutions of the country until the mistakes of English 2nd paper textbooks are corrected.
Advocate Md Tanveer Ahmed filed the writ in the relevant branch of the High Court on Tuesday over the report published in the newspaper.
In the writ, seven people including the Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Bangla Academy, Chairman of Education Board, National University authorities have been made defendants.
“The books of different writers or publishers are included in primary school, secondary and higher secondary and undergraduate classes of the country. Or a specific author or publisher’s book is included as a textbook,” said Md Tanveer Ahmed regarding the writ with adding, “There are basic mistakes are seen in these English grammar books.”
“We sought for instructions so that those books cannot reach to the students until the mistakes are corrected,” Advocate Tanveer Ahmed also said.
