The world’s oldest man, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, Bob Weighton from Alton, Hampshire has died at the age of 112.
Confirming his death, his family said in a statement, with great sadness, the Weighton family announces the death of our beloved Bob Weighton; report BBC and AFP.
He was born in Hull, East Yorkshire, Ireland on 29 March 1908. He was the seventh of seven siblings. In his career, he was an engineer. He has also worked in Taiwan, Japan, and Canada. He is survived by his 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Bob Weighton became the oldest man in February following the death of Chitetsu Watanabe of Japan, who was also 112. However, South Africa’s Freddie Bloom claimed that he had celebrated his 116th birthday. But the Guinness Book of World Records did not recognize it.
