World registers 475,201 cases, 6488 deaths in a day

In the last 24 hours, 475,201 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 6,488 died from the pandemic. The United States has seen the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.
As of Sunday morning, a total of 46,394,012 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,200,397 while 33,487,667 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
The US, the worst-hit country in the world, has registered 914 deaths and 86,293 new cases in the last 24 hours. The country is still at the top in coronavirus deaths and infections. A total of 236,072 people died in the country due to the pandemic and 9,402,590 have been infected so far.
Mexico has seen the second-highest death toll of 516 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 91,289. The total number of cases has exceeded to 918,811 with 6,000 new infections.
India reported 46,715 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 8,182,881 while 7,489,203 people have recuperated so far. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 122,149 with 468 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours. India has the second-highest number of active cases and ranks third in the COVID-19 death toll.
Iran has registered the fourth-highest death toll of 386 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 34,864 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 612,772 as 7,820 new cases were confirmed during the period.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 215 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
