In the last 24 hours, 744,082 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 13,413 died from the pandemic. India has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.
As of Friday morning (14-05-2021), a total of 161,838,102 people has been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 3,358,711 while 139,658,123 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
India has registered 3,999 deaths and 343,288 new cases in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 262,350 people died in the South Asian country due to the pandemic and 24,046,120 have been infected so far.
Brazil has seen the second-highest death toll of 2,340 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 430,596. The total number of cases has exceeded 15,436,827 with 75,141 new infections.
The United States, the worst-hit country by the Covid-19 pandemic, has registered the third-highest death toll of 762 during the time. With this, the tally of fatalities from the pandemic has risen to 598,540 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 33,626,097 as 39,825 new cases were confirmed during the period.
In Colombia, 499 more people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 79,760. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,067,879 as 19,160 new cases were confirmed during the period.
Argentina has reported 26,531 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall caseload to 3,242,103. The death toll due to COVID-19 climbed to 69,254 with 447 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China in 2019, is now affecting 220 countries and territories around the world.
