Minister Obaidul Quader said this at his own office at the Secretariat office on Thursday.
Responding to the question of one reporter, he said that the development is going on. “When the World Bank left, could you have thought that the work of Padma Bridge will occur? Could you think the work of Metro Rail will occur? The work is going on. There is nothing impossible. I Love the Impossible.”
He said, “Would anyone have thought of Metro Rail in this country? The work is going on. There is no funding in the Karnaphuli Tunnel, many thought it was going to stop, but didn’t stop. Already, a boarding machine arrived at Chattogram. So, it is not like the work will stop. So, I Love the Impossible, I Enjoy the Challenge. However, it is a challenge to bring discipline on the road and restore order in the transport.”
The minister said, “These two issues are my chief priorities. Because there is no profit in the road and transport, except by keeping the chain discipline. Eight-lane road, but there is no discipline, so there is no profit. I was sitting with the rest of the ministry. I gave instructions to the concerned. The Prime Minister also gave directions about this. These tasks have to be done at the beginning. Moreover, these cannot be done later.”
Asked whether he has created a format for how to bring discipline, he said, “I have some of my own strategies on how do I bring some discipline. And these are some of the general things that everyone knows. Small transports are running on highways, unlicensed small transports are causing excessive chaos.”
Describing the motorcycle as a new panic, He said. “But in Dhaka city, we brought a lot of discipline, but motorcycles outside of Dhaka are going recklessly.”
