‘Work must continue maintaining social distance’

Deputy Speaker Md. Fazle Rabbi Miah said that daily activities should be continued maintaining social distance during coronavirus period. In the meantime, the budget session has been done very well, keeping the social distance, which many countries of the world have not been able to do.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 41st Annual General Meeting of the National Council organized by ‘SWID Bangladesh’ on Friday morning. The meeting was held at SWID Alamgir MA Kabir Auditorium at Eskaton Garden in the capital.
President of the Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled, Bangladesh (SWID Bangladesh) Advisory Council Md. Fazle Rabbi Miah said, Bangladesh is a good example of democracy practice. By holding regular annual general meetings amid this pandemic, SWID Bangladesh proved that they are a democratic institution, they have transparency of income and expenditure and they believe in accountability.
Earlier, the Deputy Speaker inaugurated the ‘SWID Ratnagarbha Shaheed Janani Khurshid Ara Mosque’ and the ‘SWID Bakulmamun Multipurpose Arena.’
Unveiling the wrapper of Mamtaz Begum Bakul’s memoir, he said, “My wife left me a few days ago. She may not have been as humane as Bakul sister, but he was also very benevolent. Unbeknownst to me, she did a lot for the people.”
Apart from Jawaharul Islam Mamun, President of the event, other eminent persons of the organization were also present there.
