Woman suffering from fever-cough dies in Manikganj

A woman who was suffering from fever and coughing died in Manikganj. The woman was taken to Munnu Medical College Hospital in Sadar Upazila on Sunday morning where the duty doctor declared her dead.

The 26-year-old woman was from Boraichhara village of Balra UP in Harirampur Upazila of the district.

Deputy director of Munnu Medical College Hospital SM Moniruzzaman said the woman was brought to the hospital dead. She suffered from fever, coughing and shortness of breath for seven days. Apart from this, for the last two days, she was suffering from diarrhoea.

Manikganj Civil Surgeon Dr Anwarul Amin Akhand said the body samples have been collected. Within a short time, will be sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

DC SM Ferdous said family members of the deceased and their closest neighbours had been ordered to remain in-home quarantine. At the same time, the hospital and the people who came to contact with the patient has been kept under special surveillance. If the woman test positive for the coronavirus the entire village of the deceased will be locked down.
