Woman killed after raped in Keraniganj market

Miscreants have murdered a woman after being raped in Keraniganj, Dhaka.

Victim’s name was Boishakhi Begum (28), wife of Kabir Hossain, the owner of a catering center in Aganagar area.

Police recovered the body on Friday night from the underground ground at Maksuda Garden City under Nabasadhu area of Aganagar.

Later, the body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

According to local sources, Boishakhi Begum, a mobile rice vendor. Her husband’s name is Mohammad Kabir Hossain. Both of them were lived in a rented house in Nabasadhu area. Boishakhi Begum cooked rice in her house and provided food to garment workers on the third and fourth floor of Maksuda Garden City. Like every day, Boishakhi Begum cooked rice in the evening and went to the market to supply food for garment workers.

The market was closed on Friday. There was not much to the people there. In this opportunity, the miscreants rape her in the underground of the market and strangled her and escaped.

South Keraniganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Babul Sharif confirmed the incident and said, “We have recovered the body of the victim from the spot.”

“It is being thought that the miscreants got to know the young woman. So, they killed her after being raped.”

“The body bored some injured marks incurred by brick-like heavy,” added the SI.
