Submerged divers have to spend a long time underwater for many reasons including rescue tasks. In this case, they need oxygen cylinders. Going deeper into the water without oxygen is the same as suicide.

But a German woman named Anna von Boetticher can hold her breath for more than six minutes and dive to depths of 125 meters without an oxygen tank and on a single breath! She is also training to inspire others.

As a free-diver for a decade, she has been in deep water without an oxygen tank. She, one of the best freedivers in the world, said, “You have to rely completely on yourself in free-driving. It has to compromise with nature as well. Freedivers also need to be mastered in one special breathing technique. As a result, a lot of time can remain into the water with the only breath.”

Anna says, “Try to store as much oxygen as possible in the lungs before sinking. Some divers try to exceed their power limits. As a result, they are at risk of harm to the body.” Anna understands the limits of her ability through a difficult exercise called ‘Cross-fit’.

“The condition of the muscle must be such that it can be active underwater without excess oxygen,” she added.
