Woman dies with fever, breathing problems in Satkhira

A woman died with fever and breathing problems in the isolation unit of Satkhira Medical College Hospital on Monday night. The deceased was a resident of Mahmudpur village in Satkhira Sadar Upazila.
Medical College Hospital Superintendent Dr Rafiqul Islam said that the woman was admitted to the isolation unit of the hospital last Sunday with fever and shortness of breath. He died at 11:00 pm while undergoing treatment there.
Sample from the woman was collected on Sunday and sent to Khulna PCR Lab. However, the sample test report yet to be received.
Satkhira Civil Surgeon's Office Medical Officer Dr Jayanta Sarkar said that preparations are being underway to bury the body through the Islamic Foundation. The house of the woman and several adjoining houses have been locked down.
So far 15 people have died in Satkhira with coronavirus symptoms. Meanwhile, six more have been detected as COVID-19 patients in the last 24 hours in the district. With this, the total number of confirmed cases has risen to 85 there.
