West Indies are due to visit Bangladesh in January for three Tests and three ODIs along with two Twenty20 Internationals. It was reported a few days ago that the date of the series is being delayed. If all goes well, the Caribian team will arrive in Bangladesh on January 10.

Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) Cricket Operations Committee chairman Akram Khan said that the arrival of the West Indies cricket team will be delayed one week.

A two-member delegation from the Safety and Medical Department of the Windies Cricket Board arrived in Dhaka this week to observe the bio-safety zone and other aspects of the tour. They expressed their satisfaction after observing Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Covid-19 management and the security arrangements. They also said that the West Indies cricket team may visit on January 10.

After the arrival of the delegation, the BCB started planning positively ahead of the series before receiving the green signal from the West Indies delegation. Sylhet was first thought of as a venue with Dhaka. But for now, the cricket board is thinking of holding a game in Chattogram. It is learned that the schedule will be finalized in a few days.
