West Indies has won the toss and elected to bat first against Bangladesh in the 2nd ODI of the three-match ODI series held at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the capital on Friday.
The match will be broadcasted live at 11:30 am on BTV, T-Sports, Nagorik TV.
Meanwhile, after the toss Tiger captain Tamim Iqbal said there will be no change in the squad. So, the Tigers will be on the field with the squad of the previous match.
West Indies, on the other hand, made one change. Kjorn Ottley will be replaced by Chemar Holder.
Considering the strength and the home advantage, Bangladesh is a clear favorite to win the match to take an unassailable 2-0 lead, following their six-wicket victory in the first match. The win would help them to clinch the third straight and fifth ODI series victory against the Caribbean.
Moreover, the victory will also give them the seventh straight win against the West Indies side. Apart from Zimbabwe and Kenya, Bangladesh couldn’t hold this sort of longer winning-streak against any other side.
Bangladesh won the first bilateral ODI series against West Indies in 2009 when the strength of the Caribbean side was reduced significantly as the players of their first choice skipped the series due to a financial spat with the board.
Tamim Iqbal (capt), Liton Das, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Soumya Sarkar, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Hasan Mahmud, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain.
West Indies XI:
