Finally, the wait for Shakib Al Hasan is over. He is returning to the field after a long year of overcoming the ICC ban. As a result, there are no obstacles for this “Maharaja of Bangladesh Cricket” to return to all types of cricket from now on.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) banned Shakib from all forms of cricket for two years for violating the ICC’s anti-corruption act or anti-corruption code. However, a one-year suspension was imposed for admitting wrongdoing. As a result, he will be able to return to the field from today, Thursday. The incident of Shakib’s ban was not only a big blow to Bangladesh cricket but also for the international cricket arena on October 29 last year.

Last year, the news of Shakib’s ban came suddenly, as a result, he could not play in the tour of India and the series against Zimbabwe at home. The world’s best all-rounder even could not play in the last BPL.

Meanwhile, several series, including T20 World Cup, has been postponed due to coronavirus-related conditions. So Shakib did not have to miss much cricket. He was released from a one-year ban and was expected to return to cricket with a three-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

For this, the world’s best all-rounder flew from the United States under the COVID situation and practiced intensively at the BKSP ground. But in the end, the Sri Lanka tour was postponed for the time being and Shakib returned to his family in the United States. However, he continues to try to make himself fit there.

The world’s best all-rounder will return to cricket next month with a domestic T20 tournament after being released from the ban. The BCB will host a five-team T20 series. The board has fixed the probable date of the tournament on November 15.

Meanwhile, after the final of the BCB Presidents Cup, Board President Nazmul Hassan Papon said that Shakib will be the biggest attraction in the T20 tournament organized by them.

Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently in the United States with his family, will return to the country within a week of the start of the game. Millions of cricket fans around the world are waiting for his return to the field.
