Week-long ‘strict lockdown’ in Khulna from Jun 22

A week-long “strict lockdown” is starting in Khulna from Tuesday, June 22. During this, the arrival and departure of trains at Khulna railway station will be shut down.
The ban was issued in a public circular signed by Khulna DC Mohammad Helal Hossain on Sunday afternoon.
It is mentioned in the public circular that the arrival and departure of trains at Khulna railway station will be shut down during the lockdown. At the same time, public transport within the district or inter-district will be closed. Besides, all vehicles including easybikes, three-wheelers will also be closed.
As per the decision of the District Coronavirus Prevention Committee on June 19, the lockdown has been imposed in Khulna district and metropolis from Tuesday, June 22 to Monday, June 26.
From June 22 to June 28, all kinds of shops, markets, shopping malls, coaching centers will be closed. However, shops for daily necessities and raw materials will remain open daily from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
During this, the hotel, restaurant will only be able to provide takeaway or online meals. However, the medicine store will be opened all the time.
Besides, all types of tourist centers, resorts, community centers and entertainment centers will be closed. All kinds of weekly hats or cattle hats within the district will be closed. None can go out unless absolutely emergency. All have to wear masks when they are outside. However, the officers and employees engaged in the emergency work of public and private offices will be able to move out with their identity cards during office hours.
Law and order and emergency services such as agricultural products, fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, agricultural machinery, food grains and foodstuffs, transportation, relief distribution, healthcare, Covid-19 vaccination, electricity, water, gas, fuel, fire service, port (land port, riverport and seaport), telephone and internet, print and electronic media, private security, offices related to other essential goods and services including postal services will remain out of restriction.
All concerned in the Khulna district and metropolis were asked to strictly abide by these conditions. Otherwise, legal action will be taken.
