Weather may remain dry

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecasted that weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of light rain or thunder showers at one or two places over Chattogram region in the next," said a met office release today. 

Besides, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.    

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and the regions of Cumilla and Noakhali. It may withdraw from the remaining part of Bangladesh during the next 24 hours. Monsoon is less active over Chattogram region and weak over North Bay. Trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area. 

As an outlook for the next 72 hours, the Met Office predicted: "Rain or thundershowers is likely at the end period." 

The maximum temperature was recorded by 33.8 degree Celsius yesterday at Sandwip in Chattogram division and the minimum temperature today was recorded by 19.6 degrees Celcius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
