The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) said that rain water is going off faster now in the DNCC area. Once the canals from WASA are cleared, the water will recede faster in the future.

DNCC chief executive officer Mohammad Selim Reza told media that DNCC is working very sincerely to alleviate waterlogging. Seeing the rain in the morning, the officials and workers of our engineering department have been sent to the field. They are working. And it rained a lot today which lead to waterlogging a bit. However, that water is receding much faster than before.

Heavy rains lashed the capital for about three hours from 6 am to 9 am today which led to waterlogging in many areas of the capital. People, mainly office-goers, today faced difficulty during their commute.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that about 85mm of rain has been recorded in these three hours. Due to heavy rain, waterlogging has occurred in Capital's Dhanmondi, Karwan Bazar, Tejgaon, Mirpur and several other areas since morning. Somewhere water is seen to accumulate from the knees to the waist. In many areas, water also flows into homes.
