The Meteorological Department has advised the four maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra of the country to hoist local cautionary signal number 4 to the formation of a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal.
On Thursday, the low over the Bay of Bengal intensified and turned into a deep depression.
Due to deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in different parts of the country since Thursday, including in the capital.
Meanwhile, the rain has been started in the capital since the late night on Thursday. As the night progresses, the rain also decreases. It has been raining heavily in the capital since Friday morning. The continuous rains have caused water logging in many alleys of the capital.
Due to the heavy in the capital, the number of vehicles on the road was also negligible on Friday morning.
However, due to bad weather all water vessels, including launches and speedboats, on the Shimulia-Kathalbari route were suspended to avoid danger.
