WASA water in the capital is not pure as harmful bacteria and feces found in the water, according to an expert committee report submitted to the High Court today.
The expert committee recommends that WASA and two city corporations will work together to ensure pure water.
Deputy Attorney General Noor Us Sadiq confirmed the report. He said the report will be produced before court on December 5.
WASA is the only provider of potable water for the City Dwellers. The company claims that the water they supply is pure. But last July, a committee formed under the direction of the High Court said that harmful bacteria and feces were found in the water provided by WASA. But WASA did not want to admit it.
In fact, the High Court appointed another expert committee to test the water. The report says WASA's claim is not correct. The committee collected water samples from multiple places and harmful e-coli and bacteria.
Deputy Attorney General Noor Us Sadiq said the expert committee made four comments in their report. It has been said that if WASA and two city corporations work together, the WASA line does not infect and bacteria or germs did not mix with water. The report also recommends monitoring by third parties and conducting conscientious activities for safe drinking water. He also warned to disconnect of illegal supplies.
Writ lawyer Tanvir Ahmed says they want the case monitored all year long.
