Voting underway in 2 Joypurhat municipalities

Voting is going on peacefully at Kalai and Akkelpur municipalities of Joypurhat as part of fourth phase polls to 55 municipalities across the country. Voting started at 8 am and will continue till 4pm.
There are 13,226 voters in Kalai Municipality and 20,391 voters in Akkelpur Municipality. Voting is being held in eight centers in each municipality through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The presence of voters in the centers is noticeable from the very beginning of voting in a joyous atmosphere.
Meanwhile, in addition to keeping the law and order situation normal, five policemen and nine Anshar members are on duty at each center to make the election free, fair, and neutral. Besides, police, RAB and BGB members have been deployed at the polling station, said Returning Officer and Joypurhat District Election Officer Shahidul Islam. No untoward incident has been reported so far in the election.
