Polls to suspended 5 UZs on June 18

The Election Commission (EC) has decided to hold the polling of the suspended five Upazila polls on June 18 in the fifth Upazila Parishad elections.
Deputy Secretary of EC Atiar Rahman on Wednesday sent instructions about this to the concerned Returning Officers.
According to the directive, EC has decided to hold the scheduled elections on June 18 in Purbadhola of Netrokona, Jamalganj of Sunamganj, katiadi of Kishoreganj, Mathbaria of Pirojpur and Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni. In this regard, it was said to start the process again from where it was postponed.
Earlier EC ordered to hold Paba Upazila polls of Rajshahi on June 18. The fifth and final phase of the fifth upazila council will be held on June 18 along with postponed five upazilas.
Upazilas are- Nokla of Sherpur, Naldanga of Natore, Kamarkhand of Sirajganj, Sundarganj of Gaibandha, Rangabali of Patuakhali, Taltali of Barguna, Narayanganj Bandar, Gazipur Sadar, Rajbari's Kalukhali, Habiganj's Shayestaganj, Madaripur Sadar, Bachcharanpur and Vijayanagar of Brahmanbaria, Comilla's Adarsha Sadar Sadar and Sadar South and Noakhali Sadar Upazila.
Election commissioner Joint Secretary Farhad Ahmad Khan said that EVM will be used in six upazila polls in the last phase. These are- Gazipur Sadar, Narayanganj Bandar, Vijayanagar of Bahmanbaria, Adarsha Sadar and Sadar South of Comilla and Noakhali Sadar Upazila.
