Voting for Sylhet-3 by-polls postponed

Voting for the Sylhet-3 by-election scheduled for July 28 amid ongoing restrictions to prevent coronavirus outbreak has been postponed until August 5.
A single special High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim passed the order on Monday.
Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir appeared for the writ petition. Deputy Attorney General Bipul Bagmar represented the state.
A writ petition has been filed in the High Court seeking postponement of the by-polls in the Sylhet-3 constituency scheduled for July 28 amid ongoing restrictions.
The writ petition was filed by seven voters of the constituency and six lawyers of the Supreme Court.
