Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said that 11th parliamentary elections were held peacefully, enthusiastically and with a voter turnout 80 percent across the country.

He said this while briefing reporters at Election Commission at Agargaon in the capital on Monday.

Claiming free and fair election the CEC said about 10 crores 41 lakh voters have got the opportunity to cast their vote. Among them voter turnout 80 percent across the 299 seats in the 11th parliamentary elections. The results of Brahmanbaria-2 constituency not finalized due to the closure of three centers.

KM Nurul Huda announced the final results of the vote in a briefing. He said that among the 298 constituencies, Bangladesh Awami League gets 259, Jatiya Party 20, BNP 5, GFM 2, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh 2, Jasad 2, Bangladesh Workers Party 3, Tariqat Federation 1, Jatiya Party (JP) 1 and others 3.
