Veteran columnist Syed Abul Maksud passes away

Veteran columnist, researcher, and writer Syed Abul Maksud has died at the age of 74 at Square Hospital in Dhaka today.
Syed Nasif Maksud, son of Syed Abul Maksud, confirmed the matter to the media around 7:30 pm on Tuesday.
He said that we rushed our father to the hospital as he started to have respiratory problems around 7:00 pm and he later passed away.
For his outstanding contribution to Bengali literature, Syed Abul Maksud was awarded the Bangla Academy Award in 1995.
