The water vessel movement in all internal routes across the country has resumed on Monday morning as the cyclone ‘Bulbul’ weakened.

Movement of all water vessels, including passenger-carrying launch, in internal routes, has resumed at 6:00 am today, said AKM Arif Uddin, Joint Director of Bangladesh Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).

Earlier on Sunday night, citing BIWTA Senior Information officer of the Ministry of Shipping M Jahangir Alam Khan said, "BIWTA decided to resume water vessel movement in all internal routes from Monday morning".

It has been noted that BIWTA suspended launch and speedboat services on several routes including Padma-Meghna from Saturday night as very severe cyclonic storm Bulbul approached the coast. Later on Sunday morning, the authority suspended the movement of all water vessels, including passenger-carrying launch services on all routes across the country. The decision was taken considering the safety and security of the people.
