Venezuela ride on Rondon’s hat-trick

Forward Salomon Rondon scored a hat trick before halftime as Venezuela humiliated Japan 4-1 in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

Rondon gave Venezuela a lead in just 8 minutes of the match at Panasonic Stadium Suita. The former Newcastle striker has completed the hat-trick by scoring two more goals in the 31 and 34 minutes of the match. Before the half-time of the match, the guests have got a 4-0 lead. Yeferson Soteldo scored in the 38th minute.

After the break, however, Japan scored a goal. Second-half substitute Yamaguchi reduced the deficit in the 69th minute when he beat Farinez with a deflected shot from the edge of the area. Venezuela returned with a big win of 4-1 as there was no other goal in the remaining time.

Rondon scored six goals in the last three games for the national team.
