Vaccination drive going on amid festivity: Health Minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said that the vaccination programme in the country has started in a festive atmosphere.
"Many important people have been vaccinated and many others are going to receive the vaccines... Seeing the atmosphere, it seems as Eid. The vaccination drive is going on in such a joyful atmosphere like Eid," he said.
The minister was speaking while inspecting the vaccination program conducted at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka around 11:00 am on Thursday.
"Everyone who has been vaccinated so far is healthy and well," he said, adding that so far no side effects have been reported. He urged the people to get vaccinated without any fear.
Later, while inspecting the coronavirus vaccination program at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the minister said, "The vaccine that we have brought is very effective against coronavirus. Of all the vaccines developed so far, the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine is the safest and most effective."
