The Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the second stage was held on September 26. In that continuation, the first dose of the vaccine recipients will be given the second dose on October 28 and 29.
Confirming the matter on Wednesday morning, Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam, director general (DG) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said they will be able to give the second dose of the vaccine to four crore people this month.
“About 82 lakh people will get the second dose under the vaccine campaign on October 28-29. And by next month, we will be able to fully vaccinate (two doses) at least five crores people,” the DGHS DG said.
He added that the government’s goal is to bring 80 percent of the country’s people under the vaccination campaign. “Although it is a bit time-consuming due to shortage of vaccines and manpower, if at least 5 crores people can be given two doses, it will be a great relief,” said Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam.
Earlier, 78,11,216 people received the first dose of vaccine in the two days of the vaccination campaign held on September 28 and 29. At this time, 2,82,020 more people took the second dose. In all, 80,93,236 people have been vaccinated with COVID dose in those two days.
