Universities to open this month: Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has decided to open the country’s universities after September 27.
The decision was taken at a meeting organized by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday.
According to the source, the registration for the inoculation of all the university students of the country will be completed by September 27. University authorities will then be able to start teaching activities and open residential halls with the approval of their Academic Council.
Earlier, the meeting started at 10:30 am virtually and was chaired by Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni. The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellors of the public universities and the chairman of the UGC.
Besides, officials of the Health Serives Division, Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, Federation of Bangladesh University Associations, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) were also present in the meeting.
Recently, it was decided to give COVID vaccine to all public and private university students in phases this month and start physical classes by September 15. All schools and colleges were already reported on September 12.
According to UGC sources, teachers, students and staff of 16 out of 42 public universities in the country have been given the COVID vaccine till Monday.
