Universities open on May 24: Education Minister

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni today said the classes in all the public universities in the country will be started from May 24.

She made the announcement in an emergency press conference on Monday.

“The university halls to be opened on May 17,” Dipu Moni informed.

Dr. Dipu Moni said arrangements will be made to vaccinate teachers, students and officials.

Educational institutions have been closed since March 17 last year due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the country. After a few steps, the holiday has been announced till February 28.

On January 22, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education issued guidelines to open educational institutions by ensuring hygiene amid the Covid-19 situation. Following this guideline, all educational institutions are asked to prepare for the opening.
