US-Bangla Airlines is set to start operating flights to Male in the Maldives, one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Asia, from the third week of November.

The airline said in a press release on Saturday that US-Bangla will operate four flights every week on the Dhaka-Male-Dhaka route for travel-thirsty Bangladeshi tourists. Apart from tourists, this direct flight will also fulfill the long-term hopes of expatriate Bangladeshis living in the Maldives.

US-Bangla Airlines, the largest private airline in Bangladesh, will operate a 164-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Dhaka to Mali.

US-Bangla Airlines has a total of 14 aircraft in its fleet. Of these, 4 are Boeing 737-800S and 7 are new ATR 72-600S.

The airlines currently operate flights to Dubai, Muscat, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Chennai, and Guangzhou. However, their flights with Kolkata and Bangkok have been temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

US-Bangla Airlines will resume flights to Colombo, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam soon as part of the airline's future plans. In addition to international routes, US-Bangla currently operates flights on all domestic routes from Dhaka.
