Two teachers of VNSC get bail

The court has granted bail to Principle Nazneen Ferdous and morning shift in-charge Zinnat Ara of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) over the suicide of ninth-grade schoolgirl Aritree Adhikari.

Judge Rajesh Chowdhury of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court gave the order on Monday.

The court has fixed February 11 to submit the investigation report of provocation suicide case of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College schoolgirl Aritree Adhikari. Another accused Hasna Hena is in bail. 

Aritree, a ninth-grade student of Shantinagar branch of the Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in the capital, committed suicide on Dec 3, after she called her parents for complaining of counterfeit through mobile phones and asked for TC.

On October 4, Aritree Adhikari’s father Dilip Adhikari filed the case with Paltan Police Station accusing Principal Naznin Ferdous, morning shift in-charge Zinnat Ara and class teacher Hasna Hena of provoking Aritee to commit suicide.

Later, police arrested the accused Hasna Hena on December 5. On the next day, the court rejects her bail and sent her to jail. Hasna Hena got bail on December 9.
