Two suspected robbers lynched in Pabna

Two suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Darmudha village in Sathia Upazila of Pabna on Friday night. 

The deceased was identified as Shahin Hossain, son of Abdus Sattar of Jorgacha village and Masim alias Kalu. Both of them are members of the banned Purbo Banglar Communist Party Sarbahara. 

Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sathia Police Station, said 3-4 members of the Sarbahara Party were attempting to commit robbery in the village in last night. 

Sensing their presence, local people chased them off. At one stage, locals caught Shahin and Masim while the others managed to flee and gave them a good thrashing, leaving two of them critically injured. 

On information, police rushed to the spot and took them to Upazila Health Complex. Later, they were referred to Pabna General Hospital but died on the way.

Shahin was accused in seven cases including three murder, arms and extortion. The bodies of the victims were sent to Pabna General Hospital for autopsy.
