Two siblings among 3 electrocuted in Hazaribagh

Three workers, including two brothers, have died and two others were injured after being electrocuted in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area on Wednesday morning. 

The incident took place around 11:00 am at Hazaribagh area near Sikder Medical College along the Buriganga River. 

The deceased were identified as Saiful Sheikh and his brother Joru Sheikh, hailing from Sirajganj; and Monjurul Haque, hailing from Bogura. 

Confirming the information, Md Mohsin, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hazaribagh Police Station, said that the trio, workers of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), came in contact with a high-voltage hanging electric wire this morning while working on the dredging of the Buriganga River. 

Later, they were taken to Sikder Medical College, where doctor declared them dead.
