Two suspected robbers were killed in a gunfight with RAB at Kuicchagara Aargara Road of Gomostapur upazila in Chapainawabganj early Monday.

A foreign pistol, a magazine, four rounds of bullet, a Chinese axe and a motorcycle were recovered from the scene.

Four members of the RAB were injured in the incident.

Acting on information that a gang of robbers numbering 5-6 was taking preparation for committing robbery around 12:15 am, a team of Rab members conducted a drive, said Squadron Syed Abdullah AL Murad, camp commander of Rab-5.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire on them, prompting them to retaliate, triggering a gunfight.

RAB sources said that during the gunfight, two robbers were shot and other gang members managed to flee. After the gunfight, the injured robbers were taken to Gomostapur Upazila Health Complex, where doctor declared them dead.
