Two rickshaw-pullers electrocuted in Capital

Heavy showers in the Capital about three hours on Tuesday morning led to the death of two rickshaw pullers by electrocution. The duo were electrocuted when they tried to remove their rickshaw from rainwater at Sector 21, Uttara of the capital. 

The deceased were identified as Md. Abdur Razzak (50), son of Wahab Miah of Bargharia village in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj and Zia (45), son of Matiar Rahman of Deupara village of Sirajganj.

Uttara West Police OC Shah Akhtaruzzaman Ilyas said the power line had fallen under the rainwater. When they went to remove the rickshaw from the water, they got electrocuted together. They were rescued and taken to Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital. Later, they were taken to Uttara Modern Medical College Hospital where doctors declared them dead.
