Two new additional attorney general appointed

Newly appointed additional attorney generals Sheikh Mohammad Morshed and Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury
Supreme Court lawyers Sheikh Mohammad Morshed and Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury have been appointed as Additional Attorney Generals.
The law and justice department of the law ministry issued a notification on Sunday by order of the president. Solicitor Runa Nahid Akhtar confirmed the information.
On September 27, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam died at ICU of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. He has been in charge of the Attorney General since 2009.
Later, On October 8, President M Abdul Hamid appointed AM Amin Uddin, a senior lawyer of the Bangladesh Supreme Court and the current president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, as the Attorney General of Bangladesh.
Following his appointment two additional Attorney Generals, Murad Reza and Momtaz Uddin Fakir resigned on October 11. Their resignation was accepted on 18 October. The posts were vacant since then.
