Two motorcycle riders killed in Bhola road crash

Two motorcycle riders were killed as their motorcycle collided head-on with a truck at Bapta polling station on Ilisha road in Bhola on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Kolpo Chandra, son of Lokesh Chandra of Aralia village in Tajumuddin upazila of Bhola and Anik alias Bappi of Barishal Sadar.

It is learned that two friends were going to Bhola city from Ilishaghat on a motorcycle in the afternoon. When they reached the Bapta polling station area, they collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

Both of them were seriously injured, the locals rescued them and took them to Bhola Sadar Hospital. The doctor then sent them to Barishal. Later they died in a speedboat on their way to Barishal.

Bhola Sadar Model Police Station OC Md Enayet Hossain confirmed the matter and said that the truck carrying bitumen was seized from the spot. However, the driver escaped and could not be apprehended.
