Two killed in Rajshahi road crashes

Two people including an octogenarian woman were killed in two separate road accidents in Rajshahi on Friday, police said. 

The deceased were identified as Rahima Begum, 80, and Akbar Ali, 48. 

Quoting locals’ police said Rahima Begum died on the spot when a trolley knocked her down at Pathakata area under Tanore Upazila in the district at about 7:30 am. 

On the other hand, Akbar Ali sustained grievous injuries when a microbus dashed his bicycle at Keshorehat area under Mohanpur Upazila at about 9:00 am. 

He was immediately rushed to Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead, said Abul Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Mohanpur Police Station.
