Two killed in Nalitabari road crush

Two people were killed when a truck rammed them at Nalitabari in Sherpur.

The accident took place at 11:00 pm on Thursday at the Kalinagar area of ​​Two-Lane Road in Nalitabari municipal town.

The deceased were identified as - Md. Mahim, son of Jewel Mia of Nalitabari Bazaar of the city and Md. Alam Mia, son of Shahed Ali of Gozakura village. The two were friends and Mahim was the twelfth-grade student of Nalitabari Government Nazmul Smriti College. 

According to police and local sources, three friends from the North Kalinagar area were going to the Garkanda area on a two-lane Nalitabari-Nakla road in a rickshaw. At that time, a truck crushed the rickshaw when it reached the Municipal Model High School in the Kalinagar area. Mahim and Alam died on the spot. Another friend Hatem Ali and rickshaw puller Habibur Rahman were injured. The injured were later admitted to the upazila health complex. Police recovered the bodies from the spot. 

Nalitabari Police Station OC Bachir Ahmed Badal said, “I have visited the spot. Necessary legal action is being taken by preparing an inquest report and recovering the body.”
