Dustbin at hospital’s entrance

Hospital garbage, drug waste, wasted food and dirt are being kept before the main gate of the Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital. And the dustbin is spreading stench around. People including doctors, nurses, patients and their relatives have to enter the gate bending nose with hanky.

It is learnt that, animals including dogs, cats and birds are flowing in the dustbin of the hospital and scraping the dirt around. As a result disgusting stink appears around the area.

Kaushar Ahmed Tipu, a patient's relative ion Habibganj sadar modern hospital, said that hundreds of patients come to the hospital of the district headquarters every day. Such dustbin before the main gate cannot be accepted. Because here, people come to cure disease. In such condition, patients will be more prone to diseases instead of being cured.

Pedestrian Ruzina Akhter said, that she has to walk before the gate every day. The stench is not just in the hospital area but many homes are suffering from this. “So we ask for quick removal of the dustbin,” she demended.

Mithun Roy, the doctor of Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital, said municipality's garbage careers are supposed to move all the dust every day. But due to negligence of the municipal authorities, this is spreading stance in the environment. And in this our medical service is interrupted.”

Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital's caretaker Dr. Ravindra Chandra Deb said, the municipal authorities have been in touch with the cleansing of the dirt. The dirt will be moved soon.

Acting Mayor of the municipality Dilip Das said, “I heard the matter. In the meantime, the employees were asked to remove the dirt. Hopefully it will be cleaned quickly.”
