The low in the Bay of Bengal has subsided. Since then, the tendency of rain has been decreasing in different parts of the country including Dhaka. However, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) fears that two cyclones will approach next month.
Kawsar Parveen, deputy director of the BMD, said this on Saturday.
“There is no possibility of a cyclone this month. The onset of winter will come in a few days. However, there is a risk of one or two such cyclones next month,” she said.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast said rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur today at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattrogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions
The highest rainfall was recorded 167mm in Chandpur in the last 24 hours. At the time, rainfall in Dhaka was recorded 38mm. However, the rainfall activity has decreased in different parts of the country due to the reduction in low.
