Two brothers killed as boat capsizes in Manda

Two brothers were killed when a boat carrying them capsized in Naogaon's Manda. The boat sank at 3:00 pm on Wednesday at Chak-Kasba Bill in Nurullabad UP in a storm on their way to watch a boat race.
The body of one of the deceased has been recovered. A unit of Manda Fire Service is conducting rescue operations at the spot to recover the body of the other person.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Majid, son of late Sharafatullah of Chakdebiram village in the upazila and his younger brother Rais Uddin.
According to local sources, a boat race was organized in a bill at Bataspur in Tanore upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday. Abdur Rashid, Abdul Majid, Rais Uddin, Antar, Bhudu Mia and Abdul Mannan were going to watch the boat race in a boat from Manda Chakdebiram village.
The boat sank in a sudden storm. At that time, four people managed to swim ashore, but the two brothers drowned.
Manda Police Station OC (Investigation) Tarekur Rahman confirmed the information and said that the body of one person had been recovered. Besides, the drive is underway to rescue the missing body.
