Two Russian-made coronavirus treatment drugs have been approved for pharmacy sale from Monday.
The Health Ministry announced that in a statement to the state-run RIA-Novosti news agency Thursday.
Both drugs are Russia-manufactured variants of favipiravir, the generic version of an anti-flu medication developed by Japan’s Fujifilm. Russia claims that clinical trials have yielded positive results for both drugs.
R-Pharm said on Friday it received approval for Coronavir after Phase III clinical trials involving 168 patients with COVID-19.
The Russian news agency Moscow Times reports that two drugs, Avifavir and Coronavir, will be available at various pharmacies in Russia from Monday.
